From June 24thto June 26 IFRC hosted the Compact’s 4th annual meeting which coincided with the ECOSOC Humanitarian Segment, during which the Compact membership, supported by UN Member states, hosted a High-level Side-event on young people in humanitarian Action.
The 4 Annual Meeting, co-organised by IFRC and UNFPA in collaboration with the Office of the UNSG's Envoy on Youth and the UN Major Group on Children and Youth, reviewed the progress in the implementation of the Compact, defined the priorities for 2020-2021and adopted a collective work-plan for the Compact's five core commitments. The meeting contributed to fostering the alignment of policies and strategies in humanitarian action with the key principles of youth engagement while connecting the Compact to the existing humanitarian architecture global processes such as the SDGs, Agenda for Humanity, and the localisation workstream of the Grand Bargain.
